LI Clean Water Service Has No Relation to District

Bethpage Water District Warns Residents of Mail Insert

The Bethpage Water District Board of Commissioners William J. Ellinger, John R. Sullivan and John F. Coumatos warn residents that the District has no relation to the Long Island Clean Water service. Residents recently received a self-entitled Public Notice in their mailboxes from a company claiming to provide free water testing. This is not a company employed by the Bethpage Water District and the District is not responsible for the service.

“The Bethpage Water District’s testing protocol goes above and beyond what is required by the Nassau County Department of Health,” said Board of Commissioners Chairman William J. Ellinger. “The District completes more than 1,600 water testing samples annually and our water supply meets or exceeds all local, state and federal regulations.”

The water district tests their water using parts per trillion as its point of reference. The procedure is significantly more extensive than the required parts per billion. A part per trillion is equivalent to one drop in 20 Olympic-sized swimming pools. The District is confident that the community’s water is of the highest quality possible and there is no need to seek an outside company to test resident water supply.
